SOMATIC THERAPY | SANTA MONICA + CALIFORNIA
For people who understand themselves but are ready to
experience life differently.
Space isn’t something we magically arrive at. It’s something we learn to create in the body, the mind, and our emotional lives. As these begin to integrate, your relationship to life shifts, allowing you to move with more presence through the rhythms of daily living.
That kind of space doesn’t happen all at once.
It’s something you practice.
You're here because something still hasn't landed.
You’ve spent years trying to understand yourself. You’ve read the books, reflected deeply, maybe even done therapy before. You can explain your patterns, your history, and why you respond the way you do.

And yet, in certain moments, your body still tightens, braces, or reacts before you can think.
You notice how much effort it takes to hold yourself together. The constant monitoring of your tone, your energy, your reactions. Even when things are technically "fine," your nervous system rarely has the chance to fully settle.

And it doesn't have to be this way.
You've already spent years trying to understand yourself. What if the next step isn't trying harder, but relating differently?
Rather than trying to control, suppress or immediately solve what's happening, we learn to stay in relationship with it long enough to discover what it's asking for. Over time, that way of relating changes not only how you understand yourself, but how you live inside yourself.
Much of our work begins with curiosity. Certainty often closes the field; curiosity keeps it alive.
A deeper relationship with yourself becomes medicine.
Many people have never been given room where depth, sensation, emotion, and expression can unfold at a pace the body can actually follow.
This is a space where you can slow down, listen inward, and begin building a different relationship with your body and your experience.
Here’s what makes my approach
different
S — Soma
I trust the body as a primary source of information: a wise, sensing presence that offers insight without holding the whole truth. Together, we learn its language, understand it in context, and develop the capacity to respond rather than simply react.
P — Permission
I value creating environments where people don’t have to be calm, polished, or resolved to belong. Permission means creating space for honesty, expression, experimentation, and not-yet-knowing—without judgment or urgency.
A — Attunement
I believe meaningful work happens through careful listening—to nervous systems, rhythm, capacity, and relational cues. Attunement means responding to what's present and emerging rather than following a predetermined agenda.
C — Containment
Containment means creating enough steadiness that we can remain in relationship with uncertainty rather than needing to resolve it.
E — Expression
I believe expression is essential, not optional. Expression means honoring movement, emotion, creativity, and voice as meaningful ways we metabolize experience.

Hi, I’m Danielle.
Somatic Therapist in california
I’m not going to sell you false certainty, a clean formula, or a perfected self. I’m interested in helping you build the capacity to live more fully inside complexity.
I work with thoughtful, perceptive people who understand themselves deeply but are ready for that insight to land differently in the body and in daily life. My approach integrates somatic psychotherapy, EMDR, movement when appropriate, and contemplative and creative exploration.
In our work, I pay attention not only to what you say, but also to what your body, emotions, patterns, dreams, metaphors, and pacing may be communicating. We stay with what is here long enough for something new to emerge.
I created Space Takes Practice as a place where depth, openness, embodiment, and play can coexist. Regulation here involves naming the context and environment, including the ways culture and systems contribute to what gets labeled “dysregulation.” It also means building the capacity to inhabit more of the human experience rather than attempting to transcend it: uncertainty, grief, delight, beauty, contradiction, and change. Moments of energetic discharge or release may emerge, but dramatic catharsis is never the goal or requirement. This is a slow, contemplative practice rooted in integration, relationship, and making room for what arises.
When I’m not in session, you’ll likely find me swimming in the ocean, moving, reading, exploring creative practices, or picking up seashells and sometimes giving them back.

Testimonials
“Danielle is a wonderfully intuitive practitioner who knows how to listen and empathize at a very deep level. She also has a deep, spiritual presence and understanding that can only be attained through real life experiences - In other words she gets it. She really helped me gain clarity on my goals and feel more grounded. I’d recommend her to anyone looking for a blend of intellect and intuition.”
Client
"What I valued most about working with Danielle was her genuine curiosity. She made a real effort to understand me rather than fit me into a framework, which helped me build more self-compassion and trust in myself. I always felt like a partner in the process, never a patient being managed. I'm so grateful I found her."
Client
“The space Danielle creates could only come from someone who has done deep excavation work and returned with the medicine of her soul. She is exquisitely embodied, attuned, and holds a torch for others to safely inhabit their bodies and express themselves – no matter where they are on their journey. No matter where I am inside of myself when I enter her classes, I leave feeling more connected to myself and my own expression.”
